February is Black History Month: Meet Our Partners
This February, Black History Month, we want to acknowledge the leadership and critically important work of our Black-led non-profit partner organizations. We encourage you to learn more about their work and give your time or treasure, if you can:
We are committed to continuing to elevate the work, needs, and voices of Black moms (including those who have lost a baby), providers, and patients.
You can meet many of these leaders at the Maternal Mental Health FORUM March 24-26, for just $55.
(Scholarships are available for women of color and those who serve them, facing financial hardship, through the Charlene and Shane Scholarship Memorial fund.)
Our mission is to close gaps in maternal mental health care - in the health care delivery system. We believe health care needs to be welcoming (not just inclusive) and that means it must be well informed about the nuances of various MMH disorders to be non-threatening for all moms, especially Black women who all too often face prejudice and judgement.
If you know a health care delivery system that is working hard to address gaps in maternal mental health care and is aggressively addressing systemic racial barriers and attitudes, we want to highlight this important work. Please email us at info@2020mom.org.
